How to Make Kada Prasad (Step-by-Step)

Prepare the Sugar Syrup

Step 1: In a saucepan, combine water and sugar, and heat them gently until the sugar dissolves completely. 

Step 2: Bring it to a light boil, then keep it warm on a low flame.

Roast the Atta in Ghee

Step 3: In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat ghee on a medium-low flame, add atta and begin roasting slowly.

Step 4: Stir continuously for about 10 minutes until you get a fresh aroma and the colour turns golden. This slow roasting process is the heart of authentic Kada Prasad. Rushing this step can affect both taste and texture.

Combine and Cook

Step 5: Lower the flame and carefully add the hot sugar syrup to the roasted atta-ghee mixture.

Step 6: Stir continuously to prevent lumps and allow the mixture to cook slowly.

Step 7: Watch as it thickens and leaves the sides of the pan

Step 8: The final texture should be soft, glossy, and halwa-like.
