Yupik Organic Navy Beans are dried legumes. For best results, soak beans overnight in water; the next day, boil and simmer in water for 1 ½ to 2 hours, or until desire texture is reached. Once cooked, navy beans are creamy and tender; ideal for salads, side dishes, dips, soups, stews, casseroles, etc!
Certified organic, vegan, wheat-free, and gluten-free, navy beans are low in fat and do not contain cholesterol. Navy beans are a good source of complex carbohydrates, and excellent source of fiber, protein, iron, and calcium!
CULINARY TWIST: BEAN DIP!
Classically, use your navy beans to create colorful salads when mixed with other beans, baked beans, used in chili, and added to soups, stews, or casseroles! You can also substitute navy beans in any recipe that calls for cannellini beans (another white bean).
For an easy, elegant, and hearty side dish, sauté garlic, red chili flakes, and cubed pancetta until golden. Add your beans to the mixture and season with salt, pepper, fennel powder, and thyme, and cook until beans are warmed through.
For a little something different, try using your beans to create creamy and delicious dips or spreads! Follow this recipe for a white bean dip that includes fresh and bright flavors!
